CROSO Before and After

GovDesign recently published a new website for CROSO, the Child Restoration Outreach and Support Organization. We utilized a responsive, HTML5-based theme on top of the WordPress content management system. Here is the website before the redesign (click for larger image):

This redesign encapsulates several core tenets of our design philosophy:

  • It’s got an attractive, modern layout (Highwind by James Koster)
  • Top navigation is descriptive without being overwhelming
  • Content is displayed in a forward manner – the organization’s news posts are out front and highly visible, and subpages are utilized sparingly.
  • Easy access through omnisearch
By building on WordPress, we’re able to take advantage of the latest in modern web design without coding everything from the ground up.  The result is a website that’s customized enough for CROSO, but took less than a week of actual coding time.
